100,000 years ago        - When the Old Ones were defeated, the age of light began. Some where during this time, the world was given two suns. When one set, the other would rise.

7,200 years ago             - During the Millennium of Purification, a race known as the Wilok are completely wiped out. It is said they were summoned to the Palladium world by the dwarves during the Great War, but after the war ended the Wilok refused to abandon the dark arts of magic which they had mastered so well. Though their magic knowledge was great compared to the dwarves and elves who had abandoned much of what they learned, the Wilok were still no match for the vastly superior numbers of the combined forces of elves and dwarves.

5,800 years ago            - A great evil attempted to deprive the world of light by stealing its two suns. For an entire day, the world had no light other than that of small fires. One soul journeyed and retrieved the suns. But, he was a little too late. The first one had no problems, but the second one had been in captivity too long. It had lost it's eternal flame. It ended up becoming a glowing core which is now called the Moon. This man is still considered a hero, even though he is now dead. Although no one remembers his true name, they still call him the Bringer of Light. They still tell tales of his journey. The following is an excerpt from one of the more popular versions of the story:

"...and so the Bringer of Light journeyed out. There was only 13 hours left before the spell became permanent. Bringing no weapons or armor, for fear it may slow him down.  When he reached the foul creatures lair, it stood waiting for him. Both knew only one would survive. Even though the beast stood twice his size, he did not run. The two joined in combat.  The battle raged on for hours. But when it was all done, the creature laid slain. The suns were freed and the world had light once again."

Although this is most likely an exaggeration, no one knows what really happened. After returning, he never spoke of it. People asked as long as there was a breath in his body, but he never answered. Many believe that this is because the experience was so traumatic that if he ever thinks about it again, he'll go insane.

Note #1: It is said that this incident is what allowed the Western Empire to declare its sovereignty.

Note #2: The player characters most likely heard this story as kids, either by a parent or a grand parent. Whether the character believes the legend or not is up to you.
