Ness Pilasgo

Ness Pilasgo was born on November 11, 1983.  At the age of seven, his parents began a three year divorce.  Custody was given to his father.  Although his parents held great hostility towards each other in the beginning, they eventually returned to speaking terms.  After Ness graduated from 8th grade, his father was transferred to the new branch of the VIIvex Corporation in Tokyo.  The assignment was originally intended to last for only one year as the company set up the new branch.  However, the assignment ended up becoming permanent.

Ness went to school in Japan for the first two years of high school.  He developed strong feelings for a fellow student named Sazuka.  However, she had a boyfriend named Masao.  Masao, oddly enough, was the greatest rival of Ness.  The two competed in everything.  He was the only student who was able to compete with Ness on a consistent basis.  Their feelings for Sazuka only fueled the rivalry.

He could sense she had feelings towards him (a limited form of telepathy), but his morality forced him to stay away from her.  After two years, his parents agreed that it would be better for Ness to finish school in the states.  He moved in with his mother and finished high school.  While there, he was reunited with an old friend from elementary school, Jacob West.

After he graduated from high school, Ness began to discover his psychic abilities.  He started to have strange dreams.  The dreams were relatively vague, but he could always remember a woman's voice whispering in the background.  Her voice would echo through out the dream.  She called him a psychic.  To this day, he still has these dreams.  Despite the reoccurrence of the dreams, he has never been able to fully figure out what they mean.  However, it was due to these dreams that he began to fully discover his psychic powers.

Until this time, Ness had only used his abilities on an unconscious level.  He hadn't noticed that they even existed.  He believed he simply had talents slightly better than most people (a good jumper/telekinetic leap, strong willed/summon inner strength, hard to scare/suppress fear, great memory/total recall, and a quick healer/bio-regenerate).  However, after his dreams, he began to realize that his talents were something more.  He began to suspect that he may have some sort of special powers.

His suspicions came to a head when he was talking with Jacob about a movie they had seen.  In the movie, some of the characters were able to use energy attacks with their hands.  He made the same hand gesture as in the movie and completely obliterated a trash can (mind bolt).  The two were stunned.  Ness was simply imitating the gesture; they hadn't expected anything to happen.  The two explained the destroyed trash can by saying that they were playing around with some fire works.  Although he got in serious trouble with his mother, everybody believed his story.

It was after this that he truly began to except what his dream was telling him.  He began to discover he could summon these talents at will and to a greater degree compared to before.  Not only did he develop his old abilities, but he also began to develop new abilities that he did not have before.  He tries to keep his abilities a secret, and so far has been successful.  The only person who knows about his powers is his friend Jacob.  Despite these abilities, he hasn't used his abilities for a worth while purpose, only to make his life a little easier.

Currently, he has just begun his first year of college.  He only takes a few courses at a nearby community college.  These courses mainly reflect his desire to become a journalist.  He pays for his classes by working part time as a cashier at a book store.  He still lives with his mother, but she normally isn't home.  She spends her days working and most of her free time taking college courses in order to advance her career.  She feels that Ness no longer needs her to watch after him and, with the extra income that Ness earns, she has the money to afford the classes.

Ness still tries to keep in touch with his father on a regular basis.  However, for the past few months, the company has become busier than normal.  This has caused his father to become overwhelmed with work and the two haven't been able to keep in touch as often as usual.  In the last month, they haven't talked at all.  Ness has begun to get a little worried.  However, he is currently assuming that his father has simply been too busy to talk.

VIIvex Corporation:  A company that was formed with the merger between Star Seven Labs and Corvex Industries.  VIIvex specializes in high tech inventions.  It is considered by most to be a company on the cutting edge of technology with some of the most high tech facilities in the world.  Although the company deals with many civilian industries, most of its dealings involve the military, which pays for state of the art weaponry.

In recent times, it has suffered from a news report that claimed that they were working on "splicing" human and animal genes along with several other morally questionable experiments.  The report stated that there were several pieces of evidence and a witness who had witnessed these experiments.  However, neither the evidence nor the witness was ever brought forward.

After several detailed investigations of the VIIvex Corporation, no evidence was ever found to prove any of the claims.  Stories that VIIvex had arranged for the evidence to disappear began to circulate, however nothing was ever proven.  Currently, the claims have been dismissed as nothing more than slander from competing companies.
