Blood and Bone Colors of Other Races

Many of the other races have different color blood and/or bone colors. It would take too long to list each and every race, so the following is a quick list of the more common races (the ones listed in the back of the main book) along with a few others. If a race is not listed, feel free to use one of the following colors or to create your own.

Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and the Canine Races (e.g. Wolfen) all have the standard red blood and white bone colors.

Gnomes and Ogres have amber blood and their bones have a slight pink hue to them.

Troglodytes, Goblins, and Hob-Goblins all have a blue blood (inside and out) and have white bones.

Kobolds have black blood and red bones.

Trolls have a light green and semi-transparent blood that looks a bit more like slime than it does blood. Their bones are the only ones known to be pure black.

Changelings have red blood like a majority of the other races. Bleeding around others may alert many that the Changeling is not of the same race (should the blood color vary). For this reason, a Changeling will usually choose to take the form of a race with red blood. A close observer may notice that a Changeling's blood tends to run a bit thinner than most other races. Oddly enough, changelings have no bones. Instead, their skeletons are made entirely of cartilage (the same as some fish). Though not as tough as bone, it is a more flexible material. Some speculate that it is this limited flexibility that allows the bones of a changeling to change their size and shape.

Gargoyles and like kin have golden colored blood and their bones are grey. Their bones tend to be much rougher in appearance than most and resemble stone.

Dragons have varying colors of blood depending on the type of dragon. However, their bones are always white. The bones glow with a golden aura whenever they use their magic. This continues to hold true should their bones be turned into a magical item (see Dragons and Gods for some examples).
