Character Backstories

Similar in many ways to the general story category, but all of these stories were written specifically for a character in a campaign. These are all characters I played at one time or another, but have since been retired for one reason or another. This is not the story of the campaign and their actions within, but a backstory I created before ever playing the character to help flesh them out and give them life.

Palladium Fantasy

Aneles: This is a psi-mystic. I occasionally use him as a character for a pick-up game. However, it's a fun history and I figure since I don't use him much I won't be losing much by posting it all here. I figured some people might enjoy reading it. Hope you do.

Lyris: This was my first female character that I've played. Originally she was a NPC, but then one of the players wanted to run a game of my campaign, so she became a player character for me. Besides, I think it's good to expand your experiences as a player by playing the opposite at least once. Not saying to make a habit of it, that's just creepy. But I think it can be good to expand your role-playing abilities, and maybe give you a little better understanding of the other sex as long as you don't fall into basic stereotypes. Anyways, I digress. Enjoy.

Helexial Vangred: This was a character created for a very specific game, not exactly Palladium Fantasy, but this still seems the most appropriate section to put his story in. The story is mainly about Helexial and his grandmother, but also a small side story between him and a woman named Celia who are constantly questioning the nature of their relationship.

Jariel Nagish: Well, this is an actual Palladium Fantasy character, but I'm not totally happy with the story. I submitted his original story to the GM, who then wanted a rewrite and changed some aspects of it. One of those aspects was a suicide scene which I was never particularly fond of. However, I did a rewrite of the rewrite trying to make it work the best I could. This is the final version, the potential suicide scene still involved (despite my personal dislike of it).

Tenkei Shinzui: Okay, I made two characters for a game that was meant to be based in ancient Japan. As a disclaimer, I'll state that I am not a huge buff on modern or ancient Japanese culture. Names and some cultural references may be off, but it was all in good fun. This character was meant to be a blind samurai type.

Jun Nekkara: Okay, I made two characters for a game that was meant to be based in ancient Japan. As a disclaimer, I'll state that I am not a huge buff on modern or ancient Japanese culture. Names and some cultural references may be off, but it was all in good fun. This character was originally just a very pacifistic priest, but later turned out to be a half-demon (yes, surprised even me, but I worked it into his story as best I could).

Modern Settings (Heroes Unlimited, Beyond the Supernatural, Nightbane, etc.)

Ali "Lee" Goodwin: A character I created for a campaign. However that game died, and I probably will never use him again. However it was a fun story. I created lots of possible hooks for adventure and open ended situations for the GM to fill in as he saw fit. He is just a normal human here with awakening powers.

Ness Pilasgo (summary): This is actually probably the first real character background I made. He was a psychic type from the main book. This was still when I played in real life. However, the campaign never really went through. At the time I didn't do actual story mode descriptions of my characters, just summary type ups. I tried to keep a lot of openings in his story for the GM to use to their advantage.

Alex Versalis (summary): This is probably the only Beyond the Supernatural character I've ever actually created. This was still when only first edition existed, and he was a physical psychic with pyrokinetic abilities.

Darsh Belmont: This was for a different system other than Palladium, but was a Systems Failure game combined with Mecha and a few other alterations. The first file is his personal history. The second are the stories of some NPC involved, and help to shed some light on a few of the other things that happen in his personal story. The third is a psychological profile submitted by a psychiatrist, it is mentioned in the NPC stories.

Arit Packala Nihs; formerly of the Nagiana Clan of Oni: Yes! That's a long name. She's a female oni from Japan, mostly human in appearance.

Prysus Zier: Actually, this is one of my current characters I'm playing in a campaign. But he's already revealed his entire history in game, so not much harm in posting it here. Hope you enjoy. I kept a few details intentionally vague to give the GM some freedom, and I will not she did so beautifully.

E'Eno Proxima: This is a very short story involving how this character arrived in Rifts. Again, it was for a particular game that didn't happen. His origins are from the Uniworld and he is a Student of Tunasi martial artist. Since he is far from a book legal character, he has never been used. He is a human that was raised by an elven family. E'Eno is the name his elven family gave him, but Proxima is the name of his human family.
