Aliens of Note on Terra

To help the Space Exploration Program (SEP) of Terra, several alien figures have come to live on Terra for one reason or another. There are more aliens living on Terra or one of their colonies than listed here, but the ones below play a more direct role in one form or another for the SEP. Some of the aliens are a member of a race not included in the Alien Races section due to the fact their race does not play a large enough role in the known universe.

Dr. Xlnvgrmmprn (a.k.a. Dr. Cadaver)

By the terms of education on Terra, Dr. Xlnvgrmmprn is a Professor of Xeno-biology. His name cannot be pronounced by most races except of his own. For this reason, he needed a name they could call him while he was teaching. When he first came to Terra, one of the members referred to the fact he looked like a "walking cadaver." Though it was first said as an insult, he does not seem bothered by it in the slightest. Since that time it is the name he has been called by the people of Terra.

He is a member of the Yntrgwsd race (a.k.a. Zombie). The entire race looks like undead creatures with rotting flesh and parts sewn together. To the best of any races knowledge, their race cannot die by any means short of blowing them to pieces. They do not die from age, don't appear to have any functioning internal system to shut down, and can survive being pierced with blades or other objects. On the downside, they cannot reproduce in anyway meaning that eventually their entire race is bound to die off.

According to them, a long time ago they angered a powerful race of magic users who cursed their race. Though they did not notice the effects at first, they eventually found that they would return from the grave once they were killed. At first this was thought to be a good thing, but soon they discovered the horrible consequences as a result. Many of these details have been forgotten over the millennia and the story is sketchy at best.

In addition to the poor recollection, no race is known by any race to have ever possessed magical abilities. Even the ancients have no knowledge of magic and believe it only to be a legend. The more common, and realistic, belief is that this is a result of a scientific experiment gone wrong. Regardless of that fact, his people still have a very real fear of magic (even if it doesn't exist) and even the mention of or seeming appearance of such a thing can cause a panic.

Dr. Walking Cadaver is no exception in this regards. It is not uncommon for some mean spirited student to play a practical joke in this regards. Such antics are looked down upon by the SEP and will be punished if the culprits can be found. Despite this fact, Dr. Cadaver is a very friendly individual and doesn't hold a grudge. He is enjoying his time on Terra and viewing this as a chance for some first hand in-depth study of an alien life form in its natural habitat (to him the people of Terra are the aliens after all).

Dr. Esmil

This is a Jarn instructor that is the equivalent of a Professor of Philosophy. Taking her course is a prerequisite to becoming a member of the SEP. However, this requirement is rather new and some of the older members of the SEP never had to take her course. This requirement is a part of the agreement for her to teach in the first place. It is in the Jarn beliefs that this will help the members of the SEP to be more knowledgeable and understanding when exploring the universe.

Flight Commander Klantris Begor

He is the head flight instructor for pilots at the SEP. Though there are many other flight instructors at the SEP who teach new pilots the basics, flight maneuvers in air and space, and depressurization training, no trainee can be granted a fighter pilot classification without at least being a part of three of his flight sessions. While it is required for all members of the SEP to at least take some basic flight training, only fighter pilots need to take the full course and need to undergo the flight sessions of the flight commander before graduating.

Even though he is not an official member of the SEP himself, he has been granted the rank of Flight Commander for purposes of dealing with members of the SEP. He is a part of the Palgron race. Due to the fact that his race is native to an artic world, their race is protected from the elements by a coat of white fur. This white fur is lined with grey stripes and the only place not fully covered by the fur is the front of their face which tends to be light fleshy color.

As far as pilots go in the known universe, he is an expert and the SEP is lucky to have someone so skilled. This is a fact he is well aware of and makes him extraordinarily confident and boastful. His style can be very flashy. Despite this fact, he has a lot he can teach young pilots and the more classes they can take under him the better. Even though his style tends to get him considered as cocky by most, he never allows this to interfere with his duties nor will he risk anyone's safety just for the sake of showing off.

Admiral Lanis

Another member of the Jarn race partaking in the SEP. Admiral is only an honorary rank granted as Lanis is not an official member of the military of Terra. The main purpose Lanis serves is an advisory position. Though she never gives solutions or tells members what to do, her council is very beneficial. She often advises on matters such as ways of dealing with other races, areas of the known universe to avoid or that might need more exploration, and other such matters. Also she serves as a representative between the people of Terra and the Jarn race. Due to her rank as admiral though, she does have the capability to order captains and other lower ranking officers.

Mr. Hanrin Nogrem Weltir Zigor of the Blans Corrack

To save the time, he is typically called only Mr. Hanrin. He is the only member of the Kotha race to live on Terra and assist the SEP. His assistance is largely due to the Jarn convincing them to send a representative. After many long negotiations, the Kotha agreed to send a representative in exchange for something from the Jarn. Exactly what the Jarn gave to the Kotha still remains a mystery and neither race will discuss it. As a result of this deal the Kotha sent Mr. Hanrin, not exactly what anyone expected.

As the Kotha are such renowned warriors it was expected to receive a warrior. However, instead they sent Mr. Hanrin. Instead of a warrior his specialty is as a linguist. He is familiar with nearly ever known language in the known universe and teaches classes teaching those students who wish to learn. A crewman with knowledge in languages can come greatly in handy on a mission exploring the universe and quite often these students will find themselves recruited to serve on one of the exploration class ships. Even if a language isn't known, the familiarity with other languages may assist in translating.

Due to the fact Mr. Hanrin isn't a very well skilled warrior (though he is still Kotha and can hold his own in a fight on natural ability alone) it is likely that they sent him to Terra as a type of exile, thinking of him as a disgrace. Regardless of that fact, Mr. Hanrin has come in quite handy and has come to enjoy his new home. Even though he may be an exile, he will not betray any secrets or other unknown information about his people. He is very proud of his heritage and anyone speaking poorly of him in this regards or his people will result in problems.
